How your first visit works

Forty-five minutes, one-to-one, in a private treatment room.

  1. We listen

What happened, what makes it better or worse, and what you want to get back to.

  2. We assess

Movement, strength and specific tests to work out what is likely going on.

  3. We explain

A plain-English explanation and an honest estimate of how many sessions may help.

  4. You get a plan

Hands-on treatment if appropriate, plus a written home plan sent to your email.

What to bring

  • Loose, comfortable clothing (shorts for knee or hip problems).
  • A list of any medications and any scan or surgery letters.
  • Your insurance details if you plan to claim.

Meet your physio

You’ll see the same person each visit, so you never have to repeat your story.

Maya Ellery

Lead Physiotherapist & clinic owner

Maya has worked in hospital outpatient clinics and with local running and football clubs. She enjoys helping people make sense of their pain and get back to work, sport and family life.

  • BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy
  • 12 years’ clinical experience
  • Special interest: running and knee rehab

Registration: HCPC-registered physiotherapist, no. PH000000. (Demo example: Maya is a fictional person and this is a placeholder number. A real clinic site would show each physio’s actual registration so patients can check it.)

Sample review
“Booking was easy, there was parking right outside, and Maya explained everything clearly.”

Illustrative example written for this demo — not a real patient. A real site would show genuine, unedited reviews that follow local advertising rules.

How we work

  • Time to talk, not a rushed 15 minutes.
  • No pressure to book long blocks of sessions.
  • We’ll refer you on if something needs a doctor’s opinion.

Questions patients ask

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No. You can book directly with us. Some insurers ask for a GP referral before they’ll pay, so check your policy first if you plan to claim.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the problem and on you. After your assessment we’ll give you an honest estimate and review it as we go. Many people need only a few sessions plus their home exercises; we won’t sign you up to a block you don’t need.

Can I use my health insurance?

We give you a detailed receipt you can claim with your insurer. Please check your cover and any excess before your first visit; ask us if you need our registration details for the claim.

What should I wear?

Something comfortable you can move in. We may need to see the area we’re assessing, so shorts for knees and hips or a vest top for shoulders helps. Gowns and towels are available.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes. You’re welcome to bring a friend, family member or carer, and under-16s must attend with a parent or guardian.

What if I need to cancel?

Call or email at least 24 hours before your appointment and there’s no charge. Late cancellations and missed appointments may be charged in full.

Book an appointment

Call during opening hours, or book online any time. If we can’t answer, leave a message and we’ll call you back the same day.

We’re not an emergency service. If you have severe or sudden symptoms, contact your doctor or local emergency number.

Online booking

On a real clinic site, this button opens your booking system (for example Cliniko, Jane or WriteUpp) so patients can pick a time themselves.
